Full Sail University Announces First Student Housing Facility
Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fla., recently announced that development has begun on its first student housing community, according to a news release. The university is partnering with Nvision Development for construction and long-term management of the facility, which will stand five stories and have the capacity for more than 570 beds. The community is scheduled to open in fall 2028.
The facility will contain about 180 units in layouts between one and four bedrooms, the news release reports. The private facility was designed primarily for students but is open to the public at large; amenities will include a fitness center, outdoor pool, a central courtyard, lounge areas and study spaces, and a clubhouse. The first phase of construction also includes a pedestrian bridge across University Boulevard on the northern edge of campus, directly connecting the housing community to the main campus.
"It's a milestone in Full Sail's evolution for our students to be able to live in a vibrant student community connected to campus, as they pursue their education," said Full Sail University President Garry Jones. "For more than 45 years we've been supporting our students' dreams, and Dream Lofts represents an extraordinary evolution of that promise."
The university also has plans for future development of the facility after the first phase of construction finishes in fall 2028; the ultimate goal is to expand its capacity to about 1,800 beds for university students, the news release reports.
