Utilizing insights and best practices from his experience designing and developing pK-12 environments, Stuart Brodsky, AIA, LEED-AP, will present the five principles he believes will influence next-generation learning spaces from programming, pedagogical and physical perspectives. Stuart will cover how pK-12 is moving away from the more controlled, compliant learning spaces of the past to ones that encourage student engagement, collaboration, and exploration. He will discuss how schools become places grounded in intrinsic learning through affordance of experience, and demonstrate how his five principles ladder up to the idea of creating environments where students become self-reliant and self-motivated learners.
