Research findings suggest that the physical environment can have such an impact on students that it could affect a student’s academic progress by as much as 25 percent. Research also shows that positive, comfortable learning environments can lower staff turnover, which is significant because this turnover has been linked to increased costs and poor student achievement. These are two of the many topics Ms. Ranney will touch on during her keynote address on why we need to create better learning environments.
