Nine Institutions Earn AACSB International Business Accreditation

TAMPA, FL – AACSB International (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, AACSB) has announced that EM Strasbourg Business School (France), King Abdulaziz University (Saudi Arabia), Kutztown University (United States), Purdue University Calumet (United States), Stevens Institute of Technology (United States), the University of New Haven (United States), the University of Windsor (Canada), Zhejiang University (China) and Zurich University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland) have earned accreditation in business.

“AACSB is pleased to congratulate the newly accredited institutions on achieving this recognized hallmark of excellence,” says Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “During this peer-review process, schools must show alignment with AACSB’s global accreditation standards. We commend each institution for their exemplary work, and are excited to add them to the roster of AACSB accredited business schools.”

Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. Today, 736 institutions across 48 countries and territories have earned AACSB Accreditation in business. Similarly, 182 institutions maintain an additional specialized AACSB Accreditation for their accounting programs.

Achieving accreditation is a process of rigorous internal review, engagement with an AACSB assigned mentor and peer review. During the multi-year process, the school focuses on developing and implementing a plan to align with AACSB’s accreditation standards. These standards require excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation; student, faculty and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement.

“It takes a great deal of determination for institutions to earn AACSB Accreditation,” continues Reid. “Schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but all parties involved — deans, heads of business units, academic and non-academic staff — must make the commitment to ongoing improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to every student.”
