Texas Woman’s University Expands/Renovates Hubbard Hall

DENTON, TX – McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., recently celebrated an important milestone at the Texas Woman’s University (TWU) Hubbard Hall project in Denton, TX—the topping out of what will be the Student Union at Hubbard Hall.

TWU Hubbard Hall

Hubbard Hall is home to the Student Government Association Chamber. The organization will have new quarters. The three-story hall is over 45 years old and lacks many of the amenities today’s students have come to expect. Hubbard Hall is one of six major construction projects in the works on campus.

Construction began in early 2018 on the 100,754 square feet of renovations and 23,920 square feet of additions. Work on the building has been phased and portions have remained occupied during construction. The overall project is expected to be completed later this year.

In school, this hierarchy of needs shifts to include the need for physical, mental, and emotional safety. The student mind is not biologically wired to deal with the negative impacts of unsafe environments, which implies that security has a major impact on student well-being.
