Texas Woman’s University Expands/Renovates Hubbard Hall

DENTON, TX – McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., recently celebrated an important milestone at the Texas Woman’s University (TWU) Hubbard Hall project in Denton, TX—the topping out of what will be the Student Union at Hubbard Hall.

Hubbard Hall is home to the Student Government Association Chamber. The organization will have new quarters. The three-story hall is over 45 years old and lacks many of the amenities today’s students have come to expect. Hubbard Hall is one of six major construction projects in the works on campus.

Construction began in early 2018 on the 100,754 square feet of renovations and 23,920 square feet of additions. Work on the building has been phased and portions have remained occupied during construction. The overall project is expected to be completed later this year.

The Bulk Milk program is in its second year and provides recipients with the equipment, training, and materials required for schools to make the shift, according to a news release.

  • Saint Francis University Opens Aviation Education Center

    Saint Francis University in Loretto, Penn., recently held a Blessing and Dedication ceremony for its new Aviation Education Center at the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport, according to a news release. The building’s opening coincides with the inaugural year of the university’s FAA-certified Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) program.

  • DLR Group Appoints New Senior Design Researcher

    Integrated design firm DLR Group recently announced that it has appointed Dr. Kati Peditto, Ph.D., EDAC, as the new senior design researcher for its research team, according to a news release. Peditto is a design psychologist who specializes in inclusive design and neurodiversity, joining the firm’s office in Denver, Colo.
