Denver Public Schools leverages robotic floor scrubbers to solve labor challenges and increased demand for cleanliness

Denver Public Schools (DPS) is one of the largest school districts in the U.S. with 226 schools, 90,000 students, and 10 administrative facilities totaling more than 16 million square feet. Since 2021, DPS purchased and deployed 20 Tennant T380AMR and 3 X4 ROVR robotic floor scrubbers.

The robotic scrubbers collectively clean for about 35 hours per day for an average of 90-minutes each. During those 90 minutes, each robotic scrubber cleans roughly 21,000 square feet. Additionally, the robotic scrubbers:

  • Allow staff to level up their skills
  • Focus on other custodial tasks
  • Help fill a staffing gap

“These robotic floor cleaners are a critical technology investment that are helping us enhance cleanliness in buildings across our entire district. This is a huge benefit to our staff and students, while maintaining operating costs,” says DPS director of operations.
