Ringling College Honored With 2019 Educational Fundraising Award

SARASOTA, FL – Ringling College of Art and Design has announced that it is the recipient of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) 2019 Educational Fundraising Award for Overall Performance for a Private Professional or Specialized Institution. Ringling College was chosen based upon a blind analysis of fundraising data from the past three years and is the only art and design college to win this year. The Overall Performance award recognizes colleges and universities that show solid program growth, breadth in the base of support and other indications of a mature, well-maintained program.

According to Sue Cunningham, CASE president and CEO, “Your institution has not only demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism and best practice in its fundraising efforts, it has contributed to the betterment of educational advancement worldwide by serving as a model to which others can aspire.”

“We are excited to have the efforts of our Advancement team recognized by CASE in the Overall Performance category,” says Stacey Corley, vice president for Advancement for Ringling College. “CASE conducted a deep and thorough review of our work at Ringling College over the past three years and saw consistent growth in our program and base of support. Though our Advancement team is exceptional, our success is an institutional one that results from the creativity and high-quality work of our students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Their ability to continuously amaze and inspire us and our donors is the foundation of our continuous fundraising growth.”

The annual Educational Fundraising Awards were created to recognize exemplary development programs. A group of experienced educational fundraisers spends hours reviewing the data to determine the awardees.

“The beauty of this awards program is that we look at the data not knowing what institution is being represented. In showcasing these best-of-the-best programs, CASE helps its members identify institutions doing smart and innovative work from which everyone can learn,” says Sue Kubik, an accomplished educational fundraiser and long-time CASE volunteer who led the judging panel this year.  “We not only encourage—we highly recommend—that you spend some time in the CASE VSE Data Miner to dive into details about what makes these programs aspirational.”
