Renovation Begins at Connecticut High School

Woodbury, Conn. –  Nonnewaug High School (Region 14) recently kicked off their renovation witht a traditional groundbreaking ceremony. Members of the student body, parents, staff, administration, building committee members, construction personnel, and elected officials attended the event.

The $63.8-million project involves a 145,000-square-foot renovation of the school facility. Key features will include construction of modern science labs, a full auditorium with performance stage, visual arts rooms, technology and liberal arts areas and athletic fitness facilities. The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2020.

O&G Industries of Torrington, Connecticut is the construction manager. They join architect, the SLAM Collaborative of Glastonbury, Connecticut and the owner’s project manager Colliers International of Madison, Connecticut on the project team. O&G Industries is listed as one of the country’s Top 400 Contractors.

Rex Road Elementary School measures in at 133,000 square feet and is the fifteenth school that general contractor Balfour Beatty has completed for the district.

    Highland Park Middle School in St. Paul, Minn., recently announced the completion of a $23.5-million addition and remodel project, according to a news release. Saint Paul Public Schools partnered with ATS&R Planners, Architects & Engineers for its design and Kraus-Anderson for its construction.
