New Nebraska High School Announced

The Elkhorn Public School Board in Elkhorn, Neb., recently approved plans to begin building a new high school. The school will be completed sometime in August 2020. Between now and the completion date, the new high school—the third in the district—will receive a name, mascot, and staff announcements. The contract for construction was awarded to the Lincoln-based Sampson Construction.

The proposed new high school is part of a larger voter-approved referendum, which will also be key in funding in the construction of a new middle and elementary school in the district.

The new facility for Wayside Middle School, originally established in 1964, was built on the site of the former district administration building and funded through Bond Proposition A in 2023.
