You've likely heard all of these catch phrases... but what do they really mean? And, more importantly, what do they mean to our kids - to learning? Join us for an in-depth, level-headed look at Making and its impact on little and big learners alike. You'll hear from educators who are integrating Making into their pedagogy and curriculum

In this workshop participants will explore Making and how it might support learning.

  • Participants will know what the maker movement is and how it may be used to support learning.
  • Participants will be exposed to national and local educational institutions successfully incorporating making and learning.
  • Participants will learn the specific impacts on learning.
  • Participants will be presented research on the outcomes of making and learning.

Who Should Attend
We highly recommend that your school district bring a team of individuals to participate in this half day workshop: School District Superintendents, School Board Members, Facility Managers, Principals, Key Educator (Lead Teacher), Student, other interested parties.

    University of Virginia Selects Design-Build Team for New Residential Complex

    The University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., recently announced that it has selected a design-build team for a new upper-class residential development on campus, according to a news release. Capstone Development Partners—in partnership with Elkus Manfredi Architects and the Hoar Construction/Hourigan construction team—will move forward with the three-building, 310,000-square-foot housing facility.
