Spaces4Learning Announces 2024 Education Design Showcase Winners

Spaces4Learning is proud to announce the winners of the 2024 Education Design Showcase!

Now in its 25th year, the S4L Education Design Showcase honors innovative solutions in planning, design, architecture, and construction across K–12 and higher education. The program’s goal is to share ideas and best practices to help schools of all grade levels achieve outstanding learning environments.

This year, we’ve awarded two K–12 and two higher ed Grand Prize winners in the categories of New Construction, Renovation, and Spaces, as well of two Project of Distinction winners deemed worthy of additional recognition.

“This year’s Education Design Showcase entries demonstrated continued innovations and commitment to student success—not just academically, but wholistically,” said Matt Jones, senior editor for Spaces4Learning. “Congratulations to this year’s winners for their outstanding projects and for the work that they do.”

    Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, recently announced that it has completed a series of additions and renovations to its football stadium, according to a news release. Formerly known as the Bobcat Stadium End Zone Complex, the Johnny and Nathali Weisman Football Performance Center is an 85,000-square-foot expansion featuring hospitality spaces, banquet spaces, exterior concourses, and upgrades to the field house.

  • Stanford Completes Construction on Graduate School of Education Facility

    Stanford University in Stanford, Calif., recently announced the end of construction on a new home for its Graduate School of Education, according to a news release. The university partnered with McCarthy Building Companies on the 160,000-square-foot project, which involved two major renovations and one new construction effort.

  • Spaces4Learning Launches 2026 Education Design Showcase Awards

    Spaces4Learning has opened submissions for the 2026 Education Design Showcase! The awards program launched in 1999 with the goal of celebrating innovative, practical solutions in the planning, design, and construction of K–12 and higher-education facilities. EDS recognizes new developments that help achieve optimal learning environments, as well as the architecture firms that brought the ideas to life.
