Kraus-Anderson Completes Improvements at Minnesota Middle, High Schools

Construction management, real estate, and risk management firm Kraus-Anderson recently announced that it has finished two K–12 renovation projects in Minnesota, according to a news release.

Mankato Dakota Meadows Middle School in North Mankato, Minn., completed a $21.1-million, 53,000-square-foot addition and renovation. The project consisted of a new 43,000-square-foot gym, pool, and locker rooms, as well as renovations to classrooms, administrative spaces, and special education areas.

The district partnered with LSE Architects for the project’s design, and construction started in May 2024.

Kraus-Anderson also completed a $22.6-million maintenance improvement project at Irondale High School in New Brighton, Minn. The 401,202-square-foot project added six Darcy wells to convert the facility from steam and chiller to geothermal. Other mechanical work included the addition of two hydronic heat pumps, four domestic heat pumps, eight air handlers, and piping for hydronic and domestic water, the news release reports.

Other additions include new LED lighting and corridor ceilings, as well as renovations to the art room, science room, multi-purpose room, and restrooms. Wold Architects and Engineers provided design services, and construction began in April 2024, according to the news release.
