Educational Facility Grant Program Now Accepting Applications

Silver Springs, Md. – Key decision makers at schools, colleges or universities involved in the design, build, management or renovation of an educational facility are invited to apply for an Educational Facility Grant for the EDspaces 2015 Conference & Expo, October 28-30, 2015 in New Orleans.

EDspaces is the education industry’s most important international Conference & Expo for professionals who design, equip and manage creative learning environments. EDspaces, co-located with the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education’s Fall Conference, showcases the newest and most innovative products for educational facilities and includes a CEU-accredited (AIA, IDCEC, GCBI, TASBO) education conference focused on forward-thinking, sustainable design and the changing impact of environments on learning.

Now in its fifth year, the purpose of the Educational Facility Grant Program is to assist school and college facility planners, administrators, and business/purchasing officials in making more effective decisions for their ongoing and future facility construction or renovation projects and to take part in the discussion about how facilities and learning interact. Last year’s program awarded 99 travel grants to 74 school districts and colleges including 66 school districts, 5 colleges/universities, and 3 community colleges. This program delivered buyers with almost $11 billion in current construction projects to the exhibit floor.

The Grant Award package includes hotel accommodations for up to three (3) nights at an official EDspaces host hotel and full conference registration which includes career-enriching educational sessions, exhibits and networking events.

To be eligible for a grant, applicants must complete a brief application, found at, providing information regarding planned renovation or construction projects. The Educational Facility Grant Program is a competitive application process. Grant applications will be evaluated based on the projected number and value of potential building projects. Completed applications are due by May 29, 2015. Grant winners will be notified by June 30 and must accept by Aug. 21, 2015.
