Beyond The Mop & Broom

West Wichita High School, a 320,000 square foot facility facing staffing shortages and challenges with traditional cleaning methods, transformed its operations by implementing the Kärcher KIRA B 50 robotic scrubber.

Head Custodian Billy McPherson noted that the KIRA B 50 provided six hours of continuous cleaning daily, acting as an "ultimate game changer". The robotic scrubber freed up staff to focus on specialized tasks like deep cleaning restrooms and sanitizing high-touch points, reducing physical strain, and helping the team "do more with less". The robot delivered consistent results, with 99.9% coverage reported for scrubbed areas, leading to what McPherson called the "cleanest floors in the district". The KIRA B 50's self-docking system for water and recharging also saved valuable time. The school's experience demonstrates the value of autonomous cleaning solutions in educational settings.
