College of DuPage Testing Center Earns Recertification Through National College Testing Association

GLEN ELLYN, IL – Following a lengthy and rigorous process, the College of DuPage (COD) Testing Center has been recertified by the National College Testing Association (NCTA).

“The certification and recertification process are the most rigorous procedures in the testing industry,” says Academic Testing Services Coordinator Sherry Machacek. “Recertification states that we, as a testing center, have maintained a high level of quality testing for COD students, faculty, and District 502 members since our initial certification in 2012.”

The College’s Glen Ellyn Testing Center became the first NCTA-certified testing center in the state of Illinois in 2012. Currently, the College’s Glen Ellyn, Carol Stream, Naperville, and Westmont testing locations comprise four of only 11 NCTA certified testing centers in Illinois.

The NCTA standards are the testing industry benchmark for quality test delivery at testing centers, specifically in higher education settings. The standards include guidelines for the delivery of national standardized tests, placement exams, classroom make-up tests, non-standard exam administrations for students with disabilities, certification exams, distance exams, and all others delivered through a testing center. The recertification is for five years and can be renewed by demonstrating continued compliance to national standards.

The NCTA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of professionalism and high-quality service in the administration of testing programs. It offers certification to college and university test centers that demonstrate excellence in testing practices.

Testing Services at COD is dedicated to enhancing student success by providing comprehensive, accessible testing services designed to meet the needs of our students, faculty, administrators and community. Available services support course, college and program requirements, and industry credentials; identify academic strengths and weaknesses; clarify interests, values and personality traits; and complete specialized testing needs.
