College Station ISD Opens District’s New Agriculture Science Center

College Station ISD (CSISD) in College Station, Texas, recently held a grand opening ceremony for the district’s new Agriculture Science Center (ASC), according to a news release. Amenities include about a hundred pens for animal housing, washing and grooming stations specialized by animal species, and a practice arena. It serves as the first dedicated livestock barn for the district’s FFA programs.

“The Agriculture Science Center is a testament to the commitment of our community to support and enhance the learning experiences of our students,” said CSISD Superintendent Dr. Tim Harkrider. “We are grateful to VLK Architects for creating a space that not only meets our needs but also inspires growth and opportunity for our students in agriculture and beyond.”

The agriculture center is part of Phase I of the district’s multi-phase CTE Center construction, which was approved by voters in the 2021 Bond Election. It will play home to specialized courses like wildlife, veterinary medicine, livestock, animal sciences, and range land & ecology for students at A&M Consolidated High School and College Station High School.

Phase II of the CTE Center was approved in 2023 and will be built adjacent to the ASC. The district partnered with VLK Architects for the project’s design.
