Navitas and Florida Atlantic University Launch Partnership to Bring Students from Around the World to Boca Raton

NEW YORK, NY — Navitas Limited and Florida Atlantic University (FAU) have officially launched their partnership that will build the institution’s global profile and increase international student enrollment at the university. The pathway program for international students, called Navitas at Florida Atlantic University, is located on the University’s Boca Raton campus.

Pathway programs provide international students with personalized and highly supportive learning environment in which to acclimatize to the rigors of a U.S. university degree program and prepare for long-term academic success. They are designed and delivered to address the unique needs of international students.

The first intake exceeded expectations and resulted in students from a wide range of countries as diverse as Vietnam, Bangladesh, Venezuela, Russia and South Korea.

The launch, hosted by FAU Provost Gary Perry and held in the FAU Stadium, was attended by commencing students and staff of Navitas as well as university leaders and numerous members of the university community.

Navitas at FAU will offer undergraduate pathway and pre-masters programs across a range of disciplines including accounting, arts and humanities, engineering, sciences, marketing and international business and trade. Students who successfully complete the pathway programs will be eligible to continue their studies in undergraduate and graduate degree programs at FAU.

“Florida Atlantic University is a vibrant and dynamic institution that is committed to pursuing excellence in scholarship and teaching across its multiple sites,” says Rod Jones, Group CEO of Navitas. “We are very pleased to welcome the first students to Navitas at Florida Atlantic University, and wish them every success in their studies.”

Provost of FAU, Dr. Gary Perry, explained how critical Navitas’ involvement is to increasing international student numbers at the University. “Navitas’ experience in international education will form a key part of our goal of growing out international student numbers to 10 per cent of the student population,” he says. “Inviting more international students to join the FAU community offers the rest of the student body the opportunity to learn with, and from, their global peers, giving them an advantage in a highly connected world.”

Through Navitas’ extensive global recruitment network, the partnership will enhance the university’s ability to attract, prepare and inspire undergraduate and graduate students from around the world. FAU has a strong reputation as a teaching university and growing strengths in science related research fields, especially biomedicine, biotechnology, ocean engineering and coastline security. The university currently has approximately 600 international students.

Navitas at Florida Atlantic University is Navitas’ sixth university partnership in the U.S., joining the University of Massachusetts–Boston, Dartmouth and Lowell; the University of New Hampshire; and Western Kentucky University.
