Denver Public Schools Enhances Cleanliness with Robotic Floor Scrubbers
Denver Public Schools (DPS), one of the nation’s largest school districts, is using robotic floor scrubbers to meet rising cleanliness expectations while addressing labor challenges. The district operates 226 schools with approximately 90,000 students and facilities spanning more than 16 million square feet.
Since 2021, DPS has deployed 23 Tennant robotic scrubbers, which collectively clean about 35 hours each day. Each unit runs for roughly 90 minutes per shift, covering nearly 21,000 square feet per cycle. By automating routine floor cleaning, custodial teams can focus on higher-value tasks, develop new skills, and help offset staffing shortages.
