Masergy Announces Third Annual STEM College Scholarship Program

DALLAS, TX – Masergy, a leading provider of hybrid networking, managed security, and cloud communications solutions, is now accepting applications for the 2018 Masergy STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Scholarship program. The program is a part of a broader commitment by the company to drive technological innovations that make a positive impact in the global community.

“Developing skills in science, technology, engineering, and math is fundamental to the future success of our economy,” says Chris MacFarland, CEO, Masergy. “The entire Masergy family is excited to enhance our scholarship offerings to the ambitious students who strive to be the leaders of tomorrow.”

Due to the popularity of our STEM Scholarship program over the last two years, Masergy has doubled the available scholarship funds. Students majoring in STEM at a four-year accredited university are eligible to earn one of two $5,000 awards. Scholarship awards will be given for the Fall 2018 and the Spring 2019 semesters. Applicants should submit their official academic transcript from high school or college, along with an up to 500-word essay describing an innovation in a STEM-related field that they have produced (either on their own or in a group) and provide specific examples of their contribution and how it benefits others. A panel of Masergy employees will evaluate applications based on the level of innovation demonstrated and the essay’s writing quality.

To apply for the Fall scholarship, students can visit www.masergy.com/about-us/stem-scholarship/. The submission deadline for the Fall scholarship is August 17, 2018 and winners will be announced on September 3. Applications for the Spring 2019 scholarships will begin on September 1, 2018.
