Mobile App Launched for Reporting Bullying and Safety Concerns

Cincinnati, Ohio – PublicSchoolWORKS has launched the “Stay Safe. Speak Up!” mobile app to make it more convenient to securely report safety concerns. Free for PublicSchoolWORKS customers, the app is part of the PublicSchoolWORKS Stay Safe. Speak Up! Student Safety Reporting System, whichempowers students, families, and district staff to report safety concerns, including bullying, discrimination, thoughts of suicide, self-harm, suspicious behavior, and more.

“We know that mobile devices are a primary means of communication for today’s students,” said Steve Temming, President of PublicSchoolWORKS. “The Stay Safe. Speak Up! mobile app help students conveniently and securely report safety concerns anywhere, anytime.”

Individuals now have three ways to report safety concerns 24/7: via a live attendant on the phone, an online form, and now the mobile app. Once a report is submitted, key administrators are automatically notified via email, or, if the threat is imminent, by phone.

All reports are stored in the PublicSchoolWORKS online system allowing districts to keep proper documentation and monitor safety trends. Districts are also given a safety reporting toolkit, including posters, stickers, and other resources to help educate stakeholders about reporting methods.

The launch of the mobile app comes on the heels of the PublicSchoolWORKS Stay Safe. Speak Up! Student Safety Reporting System winning a Gold THE Journal Readers’ Choice Award for Best Anonymous Reporting Tool.
