Texas District, Balfour Beatty Partner for Multiple Construction Projects

General contracting, construction management, and design-build services provider Balfour Beatty recently announced that two of its joint venture teams were selected by the Crowley Independent School District (CISD) in Fort Worth, Texas, for a series of district construction projects. Balfour Beatty and GCC Enterprises will partner on renovations and additions to two schools—North Crowley High School and North Crowley’s 9th Grade Center—totaling $100 million, according to a news release.

The district also partnered with VLK Architects for the project’s design. It features a total 150,000 square feet of renovations and additions, among them classroom additions, a cafeteria expansion, classroom flooring replacements, athletic additions, a library refresh, and courtyard renovations, the news release reports.

Separately, Balfour Beatty was also selected for an 80:20 joint venture with Alpha and Omega Industries to build Crowley ISD’s new, $80-million middle school. The 190,000-square-foot facility will have the capacity for about 1,100 students. Construction has a tentative start date of April 2025.

"These awards are major wins for our team in expanding our education project portfolio in Texas,” said Balfour Beatty’s North Texas vice president, Damon Maldonado. “Through our extensive K–12 market expertise and collaboration with our joint venture partners, Balfour Beatty looks forward to delivering vital renovations and additions to these school campuses and providing enhanced learning spaces for Crowley ISD students, faculty and staff.”
