Higher Ed Reinvents Package Delivery with Intelligent Lockers: A Requirement, not an Amenity

Deciding where to go for college used to be a fairly simple process. But, as colleges and universities are being challenged like never before to create a special and safe campus life experience, services like convenient, touchless package pickup is not only expected, it’s an imperative component to a safe campus program.

To attract the caliber, and number of students they need, schools began to add amenities not typically associated with education itself, including gourmet food and dorms that are nicer than many apartments. Once an amenity— secure and convenient “smart” parcel lockers are now destined to become a requirement. Smart locker systems solve a host of challenges for campus mailrooms: chain-of-custody tracking, social distancing, student, faculty and staff convenience and satisfaction and above all, safety. It’s a practical amenity that will appeal to both students and their parents, and that appear on more and more campuses every year.
