Steinger, Iscoe & Greene Fund School Mascot

Palm Beach, Fla. – Students at Carver Middle School are getting a brand new gym floor with their mascot emblazoned on it, thanks to the support of law firm Steinger, Iscoe & Greene and other local businesses.

The turn of events began during an annual fundraiser, according to the Sun-Sentinel. The Wayne “Doozy” Martin Festival & Basketball Tournament, of which Steinger, Iscoe & Greene was the title sponsor, brought $1,000 for the school’s activities fund.

During the festival, students spoke to organizers about a longstanding wish: to see their team mascot, the Eagle, emblazoned on the gym floor.

“They had seen mascots on the floors of other schools’ gyms,” said Michael Steinger, co-founder of the firm. “They wanted to show the same level of team spirit, but it wasn’t in the school’s budget.”

Steinger says that was when his firm decided to take action.

“We knew immediately we wanted to donate the cost of adding the mascot,” he said. “But the gym floor was also in terrible shape.”

Those conversations led to another donation: a complete refinishing of the gym floor, gratis, from area business Wood Floor Solutions & Design.

“Together we are completely making over this gym,” Steinger said. “We’re making it an arena worthy of the Carver Eagles.”

The new mascot will be finished this fall. In the meantime, Steinger, Iscoe & Greene have decked the gym with two large Carver Eagles Arena banners.
