Wake County Public School System Completes Numerous Projects

The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS), in central North Carolina, recently completed work across seven facilities. The work was performed during summer 2018 and completed by Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, in time for students, faculty, and staff to return in mid-August.

Apex Friendship Middle School

The firm’s services included engineering design and construction administration support for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for the new three-story Apex Friendship Middle School; window replacements and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) upgrades at Enloe High School; swing space renovation and site work at Wiley Elementary School; wall settlement at Fuquay-Varina Elementary School; concrete settlement at Cary High School; elevator modernizations at Athens Drive High School; and mobile unit installations at Oak View Elementary School.

“Having spent nearly 25 years working with Wake County, my team and I are thrilled to have provided the school system with much needed renovation and expansion design services,” says Dewberry Client Manager Johnny Wood, PE, LEED AP BD+C, CxA, CPD. “As these wrap up, we continue to work on additional projects across the county for further expansions and renovations at different schools.”
