ASU Thunderbird School of Global Management Selects Display Technology Partner

The Arizona State University Thunderbird School of Global Management recently announced that it has selected products from visualization technology provider Planar to install in its new global headquarters in Phoenix, Ariz. The 110,000-square-foot, five-story space was constructed in time for Thunderbird’s 75th anniversary and features spaces like a Digital Global Forum, Global Decision Theater, Founders Ring, classrooms, meeting rooms, administrative spaces and more, according to a news release.

“Our vision is to not only reclaim our position as the most global leadership and management school in the world, but to also be the most digital and technological,” said Sanjeev Khagram, director general and dean of the Thunderbird School. “That was our mantra for designing and building this fantastic new global headquarters, and it’s the long-term partnerships with collaborators like Planar that has brought it to life.”

Planar technology in the facility entrance, Digital Global Forum and Visualization Room includes the Planar CarbonLight CLI Series LED video display with a nearly 9-foot diameter; an LED video wall measuring 18 feet wide and 5 feet high; a 360-degree LED video ribbon of the Planar CarbonLight CLI VX Series measuring 146 feet long and 6.5 feet high; and a 55-inch Planar LookThru Transparent OLED Display at the front entrance.

Classrooms and meeting spaces will contain multi-touch tables with 55-inch ultra-narrow bezel optical touch LCD displays; Planar HB Series Huddle Board touch screen displays measuring 75 inches in the Dean’s suite; and hundreds of 4K LCD displays measuring between 55 and 98 inches in various classrooms and learning spaces.

“It’s an incredible privilege to power Thunderbird’s new global headquarters with Planar’s industry-leading display solutions,” said Planar Executive Vice President Adam Schmidt. “Thunderbird is a world-renowned institution with a reputation of being at the forefront of innovation. In addition to elevating viewing and learning experiences, our extensive portfolio of groundbreaking visualization technologies is a perfect match for Thunderbird’s vanguard capabilities for global connectivity in its new high-tech facility. We’re thrilled to be making history with one of the most technologically sophisticated global management schools in the world.”
