ALAS to Hold 20th Annual Education Summit

The Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS) recently announced that it is accepting proposals for presentations at its 20th Annual National ALAS Education Summit. The proposals are due on April 15 for the event that will take place from Oct. 4–7 in San Antonio, Texas. The summit’s target audience is school administrators, aspiring administrators, school board members, and education leaders.

“We’re excited to celebrate the 20th Summit anniversary this year and will honor our past, celebrate our present, and look forward to the future. We will be celebrating progress over the past two decades, while also getting to work on potential solutions to the most pressing issues in education impacting all students, and particularly Latino students,” said Dr. Maria Armstrong, ALAS Executive Director. “This is a great opportunity for school districts that have achieved successes to highlight their practices of promise and share those ideas with their colleagues.”

The yearly summit features keynote speeches, breakout sessions, workshops, networking opportunities, and policy updates, according to an ALAS news release. This year’s presentations will focus on the topics of social and emotional learning paths to wellbeing; early childhood through career; culture and climate; education policy and impact; multilingual gateways to success; and big ideas and unique insights. More information about the summit and presentations is available on the ALAS event website.
