North Dakota State University Completes Music School Renovation

North Dakota State University in Fargo, N.D., recently announced that construction on the Challey School of Music has finished, according to a news release. The university partnered with Foss Architecture & Interiors for design and Kraus-Anderson for construction services, and construction began in July 2024.

The project involved a 9,700-square-foot addition to the existing building that includes teaching studios, a recording space, and a 1,000-square-foot rehearsal space. The addition also features new practice rooms, storage space, administrative offices, and lockers, the news release reports.

The university’s existing Festival Concert Hall saw renovations including almost a thousand new seats and improvements to the acoustics. Other additions included new acoustical panels, choral risers, floors, ceilings, and paint.

Kraus-Anderson has previously partnered with NDSU on the university’s Nodak Insurance Football Performance Complex, Sugihara Hall, Catherine Cater Hall, Peltier Complex, and Bolley Agricultural Research Laboratory, according to the news release.
