Sustainable Learning Environments

Date: Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 11am PT / 2pm ET

Today’s learning environments must balance environmental responsibility with building performance, occupant wellness, and long-term resilience. From carbon reduction and energy efficiency to indoor environmental quality, water conservation, and more, schools are taking a holistic approach to sustainability that delivers measurable benefits while supporting healthier, more effective spaces for learning.

In this webcast, experts from HMFH Architects will highlight the newly completed Arlington High School in Arlington MA, an all-electric campus serving 1,750 students and community programs that recently earned LEED Platinum certification. The high school was designed to help the town achieve its goal of a fossil-fuel-free future using strategies to lower both embodied and operational carbon and offers a dynamic educational environment that supports student well-being. Join us to hear lessons learned from the project and strategies for campuses of the future.
