California Southern University Named Among Orange County's Best Places to Work

IRVINE, CA — California Southern University has been recognized as one of the 2014 Best Places to Work in Orange County. The annual survey and awards program is conducted by the Orange County Business Journal and Best Companies Group.

Originated in 2009, the Best Places to Work program seeks to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Orange County, benefiting the county’s economy and workforce. Assessment is a two-part process. The first evaluates each company’s workplace policies, practices and demographics. The second consists of an employee survey designed to measure satisfaction with the organization’s policies and practices regarding leadership, training and professional development, communication, benefits and resources, among other areas.

“The university is honored and gratified to be included on the 2014 Best Places to Work in Orange County list,” says Dr. Caroll Ryan, president of CalSouthern. “We take great pride in our culture of caring and respect. It’s something that we practice in our workplace and — equally important — it extends to our relationship with our students and alumni. This culture is at the very core of the university and it colors and informs everything we do.”

CalSouthern was founded in Orange County more than 36 years ago with its degree programs and distance-learning methodology evolving to meet the changing needs of its students, as well as advances in technology. “It’s a credit to CalSouthern’s staff and the vision of its founder, Dr. Donald Hecht, that the university has been able to grow and adapt to better serve an expanding student body without compromising the unique culture that distinguishes our institution.”
