SIA Unveils Agenda for 2015 SIA Government Summit

Silver Spring, Md.—The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced an exciting slate of speakers for the SIA Government Summit, to be held June 8-10, 2015, at the W Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The SIA Government Summit is where industry and government technology leaders meet, bringing together all facets of the security industry: executives, integrators, sales and marketing, and government relations professionals. Registration is now open at www.securityindustry.org/summit!

Confirmed keynotes to date include:

  • Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., chair of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee
  • Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, chair of the House Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Security Technologies Subcommittee
  • Sheriff Richard W. Stanek of Hennepin County, Minn. (Minneapolis), also former Minnesota Commissioner of Public Safety & Director of Homeland Security

  • University of Kentucky Receives $150M Gift Toward New Arts District

    The University of Kentucky’s Board of Trustees recently received a $150-million gift from The Bill Gatton Foundation, according to a university news release, to build a new arts district on the campus in Lexington, Ky. The new district will feature a new College of Fine Arts building and a multi-hundred-seat theater, among other amenities.

  • El Paso District Breaks Ground on New Elementary School

    The Canutillo Independent School District in El Paso, Texas, recently announced that construction has begun on a 119,000-square-foot elementary school, according to a news release. The district partnered with Pfluger Architects, Carl Daniel Architects, and LDCM Solutions on the new Davenport Elementary School, which has an expected completion date of 2027.
