California Junior High School Gets Addition

A new eight-classroom building is nearing completion at Kermit McKenzie Junior High School in Guadalupe, Calif. The new building at the school will feature six standard classrooms and two special education classrooms. The new facility will help with anticipated growth in the Guadalupe Union School District.

Two of the key aims of the new construction are to promote accessibility and handle issues that are related to increasing enrollment in the district. The new “eightplex,” which will cost an anticipated $18 million, has an expected completion timeframe around the start of school in August 2018.
