AACRAO and CollegeSource Join Forces for Industry-Wide Higher Education Institutional Policy Portal

SAN DIEGO, CA – CollegeSource and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) recently announced the formation of the first-of-its-kind Higher Educational Institutional Policy Portal. As institutions increasingly grapple with fluctuating policies and procedures while aiming to serve as the best stewards of their respective campuses, the forthcoming policy portal will allow higher education administrators, faculty and staff nationwide to research and compare policies from other institutions in the U.S. across all facets of campus operations, including academia, campus safety, legal, disability, etc. CollegeSource, the higher education industry’s most trusted SaaS provider of transfer and degree achievement solutions, will be collecting and developing the policy portal.

“Our members are heavily involved in the development and application of higher education policies and have been clamoring for a searchable, trusted policy repository that can be utilized when developing new or benchmarking existing policies,” says Melanie Gottlieb, deputy director, AACRAO. “Based on CollegeSource’s extensive experience in professionally gathering, collecting, cleansing and organizing college course catalogs, we were thrilled when they volunteered to spearhead this project. This will be an invaluable tool for the greater higher ed universe.”

Available to AACRAO members as a complimentary resource, the complete Higher Ed Institutional Policy Portal will be rolled out in late 2020 with a preview provided to AACRAO members at the Annual Conference in April in New Orleans.

“As academic and institutional policies have historically been an intrinsic part of institutions’ course catalogs but now are scattered throughout various print and online resources, we recognized the critical need for a policy research and reporting repository to enable collective best practices across the industry,” says Troy Holaday, president, CollegeSource. “With significant issues such as free speech, gendering and campus safety coming into the forefront more frequently for policy makers, institutions need access to well-crafted policies that fit tightly with their missions and philosophies. We are thrilled to work with AACRAO to deliver this resource to its members and beyond.”
