AASHE Sustainability Awards Submissions Open

The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) is currently accepting applications for the annual AASHE Sustainability Awards. The AASHE Sustainability Awards recognize sustainability achievements, research advancements, student leadership and outstanding leaders at institutions of higher education.

By raising the visibility of high-impact sustainability projects and pioneering research across college and university campuses, the awards program helps to disseminate innovations and inspire continued progress toward sustainability.

Award categories are:

  • Campus Sustainability Achievement Award. This award honors higher education institutions for successful implementation of projects that advance sustainability.
  • Campus Sustainability Research Award. This award recognizes published and unpublished research that contributes to the advancement of sustainability in higher education.
  • Student Sustainability Leadership Award. This award honors students and/or student teams from higher education who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in promoting sustainability on campus.
  • Lifetime Achievement Award. This award honors outstanding leaders who have made significant contributions to the advancement of sustainability in higher education over their lifetimes.

  • Illinois Elementary School Breaks Ground on Campus Expansion

    Heather Hill Elementary School, part of Flossmoor School District 161 in Palatine, Ill., recently broke ground on a new addition to the school focused on student support and security, according to a news release. The district partnered with Wold Architects & Engineers for the expansion as part of a longer-term facility planning and modernization initiative.
