Nebraska HS Begins Renovations for Industrial Arts Technology Center

Renovations to make way for a new industrial arts technology center began at Blair High School, reports the Pilot-Tribune & Enterprise.

The updated facility will house a welding lab identical to one at Metropolitan Community College, fostering a partnership between the high school and community college. High school students will be able to take college/dual credit courses in welding, manufacturing and computer programming, at no cost to the district.

The 14,000-square-foot renovation includes a construction science lab, manufacturing lab, automotive lab, art room, and computer science and robotics lab. The original building was completed in 1970.

The facility will serve as the home base for prospective students and their families to learn more about the university and student life there. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for February 19.
