Zurn Releases New Ductile Iron Frame Trench Drain System

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions recently released the newest addition to its Train Drench portfolio, the Ductile Iron Frame Trench Drain System, according to a news release. The product is designed for heavy-duty applications like airports, military, universities, and more.

The lightweight, durable iron frame adds DIN F loading capacity and incorporates a center bolt lockdown to meet DIN F load requirements, as well. The 6” system includes the standard, radiused bottom of the Z886 Perma-Trench Drain channels, which reduces the buildup of sediment and increases rate of flow. Zurn also offers trench channels with black additives for UV protection.

“This new system leverages the benefits of Zurn’s market leading 6” trench channel system,” said Nick Heschke, Siteworks Product Manager at Zurn Elkay. “We’ve expanded on our standard trench drain systems to provide even more durability and strength. We’re helping our customers to reduce the installation time required for DIN F drain trench systems that typically are difficult to transport and install with current market solutions.”

According to the news release, the new system has lightweight modular sections that cut down installation time by up to 75% compared to polymer concrete frames. Rebar clips allow for easy attachments to rebar, as well as height adjustments. The longer, lightweight lengths have fewer joints and are durable enough for easy handling.

More information is available on the Zurn website.
