California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt in Arcata, Calif., recently announced that work has begun on a renovation project that will turn the Stewart Building into a new Healthcare Education Hub, according to a news release. The university is partnering with Sundt Construction Inc. for construction services.

The hub will provide nursing education to Cal Poly Humboldt and College of the Redwoods students. It will also offer experiential training for health professionals like paramedics, EMTs, respiratory therapists, and radiology technicians.

The renovated facility will stand two stories and measure in at 41,781 square feet, the news release reports. Amenities will include academic classrooms, simulation-based teaching labs, and student support spaces dedicated to expanding education opportunities.

Sundt Construction has previously partnered with the university on the Hinarr Hu Moulik student housing complex and the Jenkins Hall renovation, according to the news release.
