Minnesota District Opens New PreK–12 School

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Schools in Gibbon, Minn., recently announced that construction is complete on a new, $68.9-million school for students in grades PreK–12, according to a news release. The district partnered with Wold Architects and Engineers for design and with Kraus-Anderson for construction, which began in January 2024. The PreK–12 Facility unites the populations of three schools that were previously located in three different towns, local news reports.

The school stand two stories, measures 158,000 square feet, and includes a surrounding athletic field, according to the news release.

The facility features flexible learning spaces and a secure entryway. Academic amenities include a Career and Technical Education classroom, specialized science labs, and modern amenities to support collaborative learning. The exterior also offers three distinct bus drop-offs for students of different age groups, the news release reports.
