TCU Marks Campus Expansion Milestone

Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, recently held a topping-out ceremony to mark progress on a major campus expansion effort including four new residential facilities and a five-story parking garage, according to a news release. The July 31 ceremony highlighted projects intended to increase student housing capacity, improve campus infrastructure and accommodate the university’s continued growth.

The four residential communities will collectively add nearly 2,500 beds to the TCU campus. Housing options will include traditional residence halls, suite-style accommodations and townhomes, providing different living arrangements for students throughout their college careers. TCU said the new communities are designed to encourage interaction among students and strengthen the university’s residential campus experience.

The five-story parking structure will also provide space for a new TCU Police Station and Emergency Operations Center. The projects are part of TCU’s 2024 Campus Master Plan, which establishes a framework for managing anticipated university growth during the next decade and integrating the campus more closely with the surrounding Fort Worth community.

Other construction initiatives underway include a comprehensive renovation of Ed Landreth Hall. The project will transform the historic building into an updated creative center for TCU’s College of Fine Arts, with modernized instructional, rehearsal and performance areas. The university is also partnering with Endeavor Real Estate Group on The Morado on Berry, a mixed-use development planned to include residential, retail, dining and office space near campus.

TCU said the collection of projects reflects its broader effort to prepare campus facilities for future enrollment and institutional growth while investing in spaces that support student life, academics and campus operations.
