College & University Recycling Coalition Announces 2015 Webinar Series

WASHINGTON, DC — The College & University Recycling Coalition (CURC), in partnership with Keep America Beautiful (KAB) and the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), has announced the schedule for its 2015 series of educational webinars. Targeted to college recycling and sustainability professionals, the series includes six bi-monthly programs featuring case study presentations and technical best practices information on various recycling and sustainable materials management topics. Sponsorship of the series is provided by Alcoa Foundation.

Now in its fifth year, the CURC webinar series has continued to grow in popularity, attracting over 1,300 attendees in 2014. The 2015 schedule includes programs on topics ranging from organics composting and strategic planning to education efforts to influence recycling behavior. Accept where otherwise noted, webinar programs take place the second Thursday of alternating months from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST. All CURC webinars are free to registered attendees.

  • April 9 – Is Your Education Outreach Changing Behavior? Planning outreach campaigns that have an impact.
  • June 11 – Can That Be Composted? Should It Be? Strategies for your campus in the ever-changing compost market.
  • Aug. 13 – Learning from Failure. How to reboot and learn from operational bloopers.
  • Oct. 8 – Planning for Success. Strategic planning to build a comprehensive recycling program.
  • Dec. 10 – Quantifying Waste Reduction Efforts. How do you measure nothing so you know you are doing something?

  • Full Sail University Announces First Student Housing Facility

    Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fla., recently announced that development has begun on its first student housing community, according to a news release. The university is partnering with Nvision Development for construction and long-term management of the facility, which will stand five stories and have the capacity for more than 570 beds.
