O&G Awarded Contract to Build Athletic Facilities at Washington Montessori School

Washington, Conn. – O&G Industries has recently been awarded a contract to design and build a soccer field and tennis courts at the Washington Montessori School in Washington, Connecticut.

Sitework on the design/build project began in mid-June. The project includes extensive sitework and excavation to make way for a soccer field and four tennis courts behind the existing school.  In total, 14,000 cubic yards of earth will need to be excavated as a part of the project.

In addition, the project will feature a four tennis court post-tensioned concrete system. The post tensioned concrete will be covered with a cushioned playing surface that will extend the life of the court, reduce maintenance and provide a superior playing surface.

O&G has completed over 230 school construction projects to date, more than any other Connecticut based contractor.  O&G is actively working on thirteen school construction projects including Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, the CREC Academy of Aerospace in Windsor and Naugatuck High School.  “At O&G, we’re proud of our Connecticut roots and being the contractor of choice for public and private school construction projects” stated O&G Assistance Vice President Jason Travelstead.

The project is expected to be completed in October of 2015.
