STEAM Facility Opens in New Jersey HS

A New Jersey school district opened a $4.4 million STEAM facility at Mahwah High School in New Jersey. Known as the “Thunderbird Think Tank,” the 9,000 square-foot building was designed to host the district’s tech-centered programs like robotics, computer modeling and mobile app design.

The facility accommodates 200 students and features space for general instruction, a glass-walled cube for project displays and multiple indoor and outdoor labs.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the STEAM addition will be held on Sept. 10.

The school partnered with DIGroup Architecture for the design of the new facility, which will provide the school with space to expand its STEM and business education classes.
