UG2 Announces Top Green Cleaning Certification

UG2, an integrated facilities services company, earned a top award from a worldwide cleaning industry association. The company earned ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building (GB) certification that demonstrates the comprehensive development and implementation of operating policies and procedures to give the best services for customers and that delivers a comprehensive green cleaning program based on LEEDEB: O&M green cleaning criteria.

“This is a remarkable affirmation of the commitment UG2 has shown toward environmentally sound services for our customers,” Louis J. Lanzillo, CEO at UG2, said in a press release. “We are honored to receive this significant certification from our industry’s top association, and we feel that it reflects the hard work and consistent customer focus of every team member at UG2.”

CIMS and CIMS-GB certifications are required in many cleaning service bid specifications as customers look for an effective way to identify high-quality providers. CIMS and CIMS-GB certified firms must meet the following industry standard:

  • Quality systems
  • Service delivery
  • Human resources
  • Health, safety, and environmental stewardship
  • Management commitment
  • Green building

    Kealakehe Elementary School in Kailua, Hawaii, recently began construction on a new, $16-million classroom building for its campus, according to a news release. The 13,000-square-foot building will stand two stories and connect the existing upper and lower campuses.
