California Community College Completes New STEM Building

Mt. San Jacinto Community College, Menifee Campus in Menifee, Calif., recently announced the completion of a new, $38-million STEM building, according to a news release. The college partnered with C.W. Driver Companies for the project’s construction, which broke ground in May 2022. The Menifee Campus is one of four within the Mt. San Jacinto College system, for which C.W. Driver has completed five building projects.

The 57,400-square-foot building will play home to the school’s math, biology, and physical science programs, which were previously spread out across multiple campuses. Amenities will include science labs and lecture space, math and general studies labs, classrooms, faculty offices, and administrative space, the news release reports. The purpose was to create a centralized hub for STEM studies and provide a new permanent home for the growing math department in particular.

“The new Mt. San Jacinto College STEM building is an important addition to the Menifee campus, bringing a modern hub to student and faculty members at the center of campus,” said C.W. Driver Companies COO Brent Hughes. “The integrated design and spacious indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to encourage collaboration and learning, specifically for the college’s growing STEM courses.”
