RenewAire Releases DX Cooling Coil for Two Existing Energy Recovery Ventilators

HVAC and indoor-air-quality solutions provider RenewAire recently launched the new HE+DX Coil, a duct-mounted system for the company’s existing HE07 and HE10 energy recovery ventilators (ERVs). The product adds cooling capabilities via a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) functionality at a lower price point and shorter lead times, according to a news release.

The product is targeting the direct expansion (DX) and variable refrigerant flow (VRF) HVAC markets for schools, government facilities, retail, and other large, public spaces.

According to the news release, “Unlike off-the-shelf coils, the HE+DX Coil’s size and output are fully customizable based on the application’s unique design parameters. Engineers or contractors can input geographical, environmental, and other project-related design requirements free online via RenewAire’s proprietary AHRI 1060-certified selection software, CORES (configuration, order, report estimate/energy analysis, and submittal).” It also offers capacity control data points to help engineers and contractors with selecting thermostatic expansion valves and condensers.

The coil provides additional cooling capabilities to allow for the downsizing of air-handling equipment. Its compact size tailors it toward use in smaller spaces like classrooms. It also offers the choice of a split-system style condenser or an interface with VRF refrigeration circuits.
