Texas State University Completes Stadium Renovations

Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, recently announced that it has completed a series of additions and renovations to its football stadium, according to a news release. Formerly known as the Bobcat Stadium End Zone Complex, the Johnny and Nathali Weisman Football Performance Center is an 85,000-square-foot expansion featuring hospitality spaces, banquet spaces, exterior concourses, and upgrades to the field house. The university partnered with Pfluger Architects and White Construction on the project.

Field house upgrades include the addition of an 8,000-square-foot weight room and a 3,000-square-foot training room. The new End Zone Complex features amenities for player wellness and development including in-ground hydrotherapy, cold-plunge pools, locker room upgrades, and meeting spaces, the news release reports.

“The university’s vision to have a facility to help student-athletes reach their full potential drove our design, putting player and team wellness at the forefront,” said Pfluger Architects’ Chris Lammers, AIA, project manager and Higher Education Practice Director. “Everything in the space planning, design, and programmatic needs was driven by efficiency and maximizing every minute to make Texas State’s players better athletes. We designed the stadium addition to fit seamlessly into the rest of campus and the existing stadium, unifying elements across the board.”

Other facility features include a players’ lounge, lobby and community area, and a hospitality suite that opens onto a rooftop terrace overlooking the stadium. A new Grand Central hallway connects the complex to other stadium facilities, while an expanded concourse bridge connects the terrace to the rest of the facility.

The project began in 2020 and was completed at the beginning of the fall 2025 semester, the news release reports.
