KWK Architects Announces Full Transition to Lawrence Group Branding

KWK Architects recently announced that it will complete its transition to the Lawrence Group brand effective July 1, according to a news release. The merger marks the end of a three-year strategic integration process that began in March 2023 to unite the firms.

KWK’s higher education and student housing leaders, as well as its founding principals and longtime experts, will continue to serve in Lawrence Group’s higher education practice. The full practice includes more than 140 professionals across “architecture, interior design, furniture procurement, graphic design, landscape architecture, and master planning,” the news release reports.

KWK was founded in 2013, and Founding Principals Paul Wuennenberg, Javier Esteban, and Eric Neuner continued on with Lawrence Group as mentor figures for the next generation of higher education practice leaders.

“As KWK fully transitions into Lawrence Group this summer, the same trusted leaders who shaped its reputation continue to guide the vision forward,” said Tim Rowbottom, AIA, Lawrence Group COO. “Joined by a new generation of talent, our expanded student housing team blends continuity with fresh perspectives. It’s the next chapter in delivering innovative spaces for students to thrive.”

Lawrence Group is currently working on student housing projects for Southern Illinois University, University of St. Thomas in Houston, Northern Michigan University, and Texas State University, the news release reports.
