DLR Group Announces New Mid-Atlantic Higher Education Leader

Integrated design firm DLR Group recently announced that it has promoted Principal Shawn Gaither, AIA, LEED AP, to the role of higher education leader in the Mid-Atlantic, according to a news release. Gaither has served with the firm for more than 20 years, most recently as the national higher education business development leader.

His new role will include leading client relations with public and private universities, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and supporting strategic growth in the region.

“Shawn has spent decades designing higher education environments that enrich student experience, strengthen research outcomes, and bolster campus identities” said Stu Rothenberger, AIA, LEED AP, Senior Principal and Global Higher Education Leader. “He brings incredible value to every relationship, understanding client needs at every level, serving as a trusted advisor, and ensuring their vision for transformative projects is realized.”

Gaither’s experience in the Mid-Atlantic includes Stevenson Center 6 at Vanderbilt University; a campus replacement project for the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Memphis; the Poultry Science Research Facility at Clemson University, and the Dining and Student Wellness Facility at Davidson College. He’s spearheaded more than $500 million in higher-education construction, and he’s an active member of professional organizations including the American Institute of Architects, the Society for College and University Planning, and the Association of Physical Plant Administrators, the news release reports.

“I am delighted to be able to continue directly serving our clients in this increased capacity,” said Gaither. “This new role allows me to continue my promise of delivering committed best-in-class innovative thinking in collaboration with our campus partners.”
