University of Idaho Debuts New Campus Housing Community

The University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Vandal Village, a new campus housing community for graduate students and families, according to a news release. The university partnered with Gilbane Development and Rocky Mountain Companies for the project’s construction and with Intregrus and Design Collective for its design.

The complex measures 200,000 square feet and includes 240 units between two and four bedrooms. It has the capacity for 451 beds—232 for graduate students, and 219 for married or parenting students, the news release reports. In-unit amenities include furnishings, Wi-Fi, a washer and dryer, and a full-size kitchen with a dishwasher.

"Vandal Village underscores our continued dedication to delivering high-quality student housing communities designed for student success," said Geoff Eisenacher, Executive Development Director with Gilbane. "We're proud to have partnered with the University of Idaho to advance their campus housing goals and deliver modern apartments that give graduate students and student families a place that supports how they actually live and study.”

The project was part of a larger, $135-million initiative to renovate and redevelop multiple on-campus housing facilities.

“Our responsibility is to plan for the university's future while delivering improvements students can use today,” said Brian Foisy, the university’s Division of Finance and Administration vice president. “Vandal Village puts that investment into practice, providing furnished apartments for graduate students and families as part of a broader effort to improve campus housing.”
