Scholarship Contest Open to Students with an Interest in Architecture, Engineering or Construction

DENVER, CO – Severe Weather Roofing & Restoration in Denver, CO, is pleased to announce the launch of its scholarship contest. The Severe Weather Roofing A/E/C Scholarship, which launched in early October, is a highly competitive award for students interested in pursuing a career in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction. The contest is open to both high school and college students with a deadline of December 15, 2015.

"We're going to award the scholarship on December 20th, just in time for the holiday season. We host this scholarship as part of our commitment to enriching tomorrow's workforce within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction fields. The contest is a great way to encourage students, with an existing passion for these fields, to pursue their career goals," says John Anderson, owner.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a career within the architecture field is growing 17 percent faster than all other careers within the country. Forbes.com recently published a piece on the popularity of engineering jobs, stating the U.S. has approximately 1.6 million engineering jobs, of which civil engineers account for the most jobs of any engineering field (274,000 in 2014). Further, the construction field continues to grow, already exceeding the amount of available work when compared to 2014.

The Severe Weather Roofing A/E/C Scholarship requires students to submit a 500 to 1,000-word essay on how they plan on using their degree to in the field of Architecture, Construction or Engineering. Students pursuing a major in Architecture, Business, Construction or Engineering are encouraged to apply. The scholarship award is for a thousand dollars ($1,000). Only one award will be issued.
