Texas District Breaks Ground on Second High School

The Waller Independent School District in Waller, Texas, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for what will become its second high school, according to a news release. The district partnered with VLK for architectural services and with Stewart Builders for construction services on Warren Ranch High School, which has an estimated completion date of fall 2028.

The new school will have the capacity for 3,500 students and include facilities for a wide variety of academic, athletic, and fine-arts programs. According to the news release, its campus will include a main high school building, an athletic stadium complex, baseball and softball fields, a field house, an agriculture barn, and a mechanical central plant designed to support future expansion.

The new construction also represents the district’s transition away from a single high-school model. It’s named in honor of the historic Warren Ranch, “honoring its longstanding values of pride, hard work, ethics, and innovation,” according to the news release.

“We are honored to be part of a project that celebrates both the growth of Waller ISD and the lasting legacy of the Warren Ranch and family, creating a campus that will resonate with students and the community for generations,” said VLK Principal Melissa Fleming.

Funding comes from a bond program that local voters approved in November 2024.
